The
Chicago Chronicle Building
Located at
360 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois
One of the
most notable locations used on Perfect Strangers is the Chicago Chronicle
Building.
The screen grabs below will undoubtedly be a familiar site to everyone!

There
actually is no real Chicago Chronicle, and at the time the building was known
as the London Guarantee & Accident Building. The following
photos were taken
by a fan back when the show was still on the air. As you can see, the
Burger King
was actually at that location and not inserted for promotional purposes:

Today the
building is known as the Crain Communications building and is still
a landmark of architecture in the city. Designed by Alfred S. Alschuler
and built in 1922-23, it was declared a historical landmark in 1996:

The
building is not only seen during the establishing shots within the show, but
briefly during the theme song as well! Balki and Larry do their
"walking against the wind"
bit in front of the building, to the left of the main doors as seen below!

Cousin John
pointed out even more evidence that this was filmed in front of the
"Chronicle" building.
Looking at the notation below, Cousin John notes, "if you look at the far
left side of the shot, you'll
see the exterior of a skyscraper reflected in the window. Sure
enough, it's Equitable
Building
located at 401 N. Michigan Avenue, and it's right across
the street from the Wrigley Building
and across the river from the Crain Communications (er, Chicago Chronicle)
building."
